My Favorite Apps of 2009-Part 2

By: Angela soric

Here are the apps that consumed most of my free time in 2009 (in no particular order).

  1. Family Feud- Finally enjoy one of America’s most popular gameshows at your fingertips. This application is seriously addicting, users can challenge their skills in scoreboard, face off, strikes and fast money rounds (my favorite). The interface is very well done and the keyboard is easy to use.

  3. Amateur Surgeon- Practice your surgery skills by using instruments such as a pizza cutter, salad tongs and a stapler to save lives through 27 levels. This game is definitely addicting and delightfully disgusting!

Just in time for the holidays- Amateur Surgeon (Christmas Edition)- allows you to celebrate the holidays by slicing into Santa and his helpers in order to save Christmas.

  4. Upnext- This travel app uses quality 3-D interactive maps to help you explore new cities and discover hot spots along the way. There are also helpful features such as subway alerts, tap to search and even social recommendations. Now you have no excuse to stay in your hotel!

  6. Supermarket Mania- Generally when I hear the term “time management” I don’t usually associate it with a fun time, but this app is surprisingly hard to put down. Play the role of Nikki, a young girl who runs a local grocery store. Keep customers satisfied while maintaining the store. The app is definitely worth checking out.

  8. ITGO- Train for a race or burn off those extra holiday pounds. This interval training app allows users to set up playlists from their personal music collection while the app automatically switches between fast and slow songs, letting you concentrate on your workout while enjoying the music you choose. The app is based on 3 main screens, the Timer, Settings and Audio screens. It’s very well done and extremely easy to use.
