The most recent iPhone rumors are coming from Goldman Sachs Group analyst, Robert Chen who claims “Apple’s going to put a lot of innovation, not just on the hardware, but also on the software of the new iPhone.” Chen speculates that the new model will have a touch sensitive solid shell, similar to the magic mouse. Magic Mouse, released in October, has a touch-sensitive solid plastic shell that replaces mechanical buttons. The technology may be replicated in the new iPhone to offer touch-sensitive features on the rear of the handset, Chen said.
Despite the success of the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, Apple’s competitors are offering more feature-rich devices. Many Android devices come with 5 megapixel cameras and some have the ability to record HD video. Chen believes the new iPhone will be upgraded to 5 megapixels, which would put the iPhone camera on a level playing field with devices such as the Nexus One.
The release of the new iPhone is slated for June of this year.
