Everywhere I go, it seems like everyone is talking about or using their Smartphone. The Smartphone is slowly consuming every minute of everyday. When was the last time you went shopping or to a movie and didn’t hear a phone ringing?
The latest mobile trend is to compare your phone applications. Your “coolness” factor is determined by how many apps you own and how frequently you use them. There is an application for every aspect of our lives, just the way we like it.
A recent survey conducted by Best Buy Mobile suggests the interest in Smartphones is here to stay. In the next 12 months, over 40 percent of consumers will be upgrading to a Smartphone. Scott Moore, vice president of marketing for Best Buy Mobile in Minneapolis continues:
“The survey demonstrated tremendous interest in the Smartphone category and that many of the killer apps on these devices are prompting many consumers to upgrade to Smartphones this year.”
Companies need to realize how important the Smartphone has become. The best course of action is to develop the company name through the use of an app. Consumers are downloading apps continuously, so make their day easier with app features like store locators and discount offers.
Mr. Moore explains, “Our job is to invite customers to start having a better experience choosing and using their next phone.” In today’s mobile world, offering a branded application is a necessity, not a choice.
