Adobe Bringing Flash Apps to iPhone

By: Angela Soric

Although Flash is not supported on the iPhone or iPod, Adobe is getting ready to release its 5th version of Creative Suite, which will include a “Package for iPhone”. This package will convert any Flash application into an iPhone app. This could mean the iPhone will gain 2 million Flash developers whether Apple likes it or not.

Apple’s reasons for not supporting Flash have included the following:

  • High battery consumption
  • Speed issues
  • Capability problems

Adobe has however addressed and solved most of these issues proving that Flash now works fine on Android.

Many feel that this is a step forward in the world of iPhone development. Erick Schonfeld, of TechCrunch, believes this will be a game changer. Whether it is or not, one thing is certain-users should get ready for even more apps in the iTunes store.
